person who reads the monthly report is usually the person who signs the cheque.

The role
Job description
The gap between a flat mockup and a working page is where most agency design dies. We would rather you designed in the browser, or at least beside the person who is building it, so that the approved design and the live site are the same thing.
You would own the look of a project from the first layout through to the detail nobody remembers to design — the empty state, the error, the form on a 360px phone.
- Design full site layouts, not just the homepage everybody wants to see.
- Design the states that get forgotten: empty, loading, error, long content.
- Work in a type scale and a token set rather than one-off values.
- Present work to clients and defend a decision without getting defensive.
- Check the built page against the design and raise the differences that matter.
- Keep brand work consistent across site, print and social for the same client.
