person who reads the monthly report is usually the person who signs the cheque.

The role
Job description
Most of our clients are businesses where the owner reads the report themselves. That sets the standard for this role: a number nobody can act on is not a result, and "impressions are up" is not a sentence we send.
You would hold four to six accounts rather than twenty, which is the only way anybody gets to understand a client's actual business. It also means there is nowhere to hide a month where nothing moved.
- Own search and paid performance for your accounts, end to end.
- Do the keyword and competitor work yourself rather than buying a report about it.
- Write and launch ad copy, then kill what is not earning its budget.
- Keep tracking honest — conversions that reflect real enquiries, not form loads.
- Write the monthly report, including the months where the answer is "this did not work".
- Sit with the developer when a fix belongs on the site rather than in the campaign.
