Taking money online, correctly

Payment Gateway Integration

A payment integration is not finished when the test transaction succeeds. It is finished when failed payments, refunds, partial captures and webhook retries all behave correctly, because those are what you will actually deal with.

What this is

The short version

Selection, integration and testing of Indian and international payment gateways for websites and applications — including the failure paths most integrations skip.

What's included

  • Gateway comparison on your transaction mix and ticket size
  • Merchant account setup support and documentation
  • Integration with webhook handling and signature verification
  • UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets and EMI as needed
  • Live testing of success, failure, refund and retry paths
  • Reconciliation reporting that matches your settlement statements

In detail

How this actually runs

01

Choosing a gateway

Rates differ by payment method and ticket size, so the cheapest headline rate is often not the cheapest in practice. We compare against your actual transaction mix.

  • Razorpay, PayU, Cashfree, CCAvenue
  • Stripe and PayPal for international receipts
  • Effective rate compared on your real mix
  • Settlement timing and rolling reserve explained
02

Integration done properly

Server-side verification, idempotent webhook handling and signature checks. Client-side-only integrations can be tampered with.

  • Server-side verification of every payment
  • Webhook signature verification
  • Idempotency so retries do not double-charge
  • Order state machine that cannot get stuck
03

Testing and handover

Every path tested with real money before go-live, and your team shown how to issue a refund and read a settlement report.

  • Success, failure, timeout and refund paths
  • Small real transactions before launch
  • Reconciliation against settlement files
  • Documented runbook for your team

Payment Gateway Integration — what people ask

Which gateway is cheapest?
It depends on your mix. UPI is typically near-zero, cards cost around 2%, and international cards more. A business taking mostly UPI should optimise differently from one taking mostly credit cards.
What do I need to get a merchant account?
Typically GST registration, PAN, a current account in the business name, and proof of business address. We help prepare the application, though approval is the gateway's decision.
Can you add payments to a site someone else built?
Usually yes. We audit the existing code first and tell you honestly whether it is safe to extend or whether the payment flow needs rebuilding.
